the san francisco convention & visitors bureau (sfcvb) and american express have created special offers for the winter holiday season with the “stay & shop sf” promotion for travel on oct. 1, 2009-jan. 31, 2010.

visitors who book two nights on the only in san francisco web site, www.onlyinsanfrancisco.com, and pay with any american express card will receive a $50 westfield gift card, complimentary parking and breakfast (limit of one gift card per stay of two or more nights).  the offer is limited to the first 400 “stay & shop sf” packages sold.

“stay & shop sf” encourages shoppers to explore and enjoy the city after a day of shopping.  visitors can select from more than 15 hotels in four distinct neighborhoods – fisherman’s wharf, union square, the financial district and pacific heights.

san francisco is home to hundreds of holiday events, from the classics (ice skating rinks in union square and on the embarcadero, san francisco ballet’s “nutcracker,” american conservatory theatre’s “a christmas carol”), to the offbeat (“dance along nutcracker,” “kung pao kosher comedy”) and the diverse (parol lantern festival, black nativity).

“stay & shop sf” supports the “shop sf. get more” program developed last year by the local business community to provide holiday incentives and stimulate the local economy.
