"friendraiser" kicks off for a worthy cause!

dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for homebound, terminally and chronically ill people and their primary caregivers with free, in-home beauty treatments, the beauty bus foundation (bbf) launched with a celebratory friendraiser concert to raise awareness of their mission.

with more than 150 guests in attendance, the event offered insight into the work of the foundation, food and libations courtesy of thank goodness it’s sophia and progressive brands (han vodka) and an evening of inspiring music. featuring ken aiso, one of the world’s most accomplished soloists and chamber musicians, the evening started with an overview of the organization as well as testimonials from an als association greater los angeles chapter social worker and bbf clients who have received services. the program emphasized the power behind the bbf mission, which is to reach out to isolated individuals and bring beauty into their lives, in the comfort of their homes.

“when someone is diagnosed with a terminal or chronic illness, their treatment becomes about quality of care. we believe that quality of life services are an integral part of coping and healing for both the patient and the primary caregiver,” said alicia liotta, co-founder of beauty bus foundation. “i am completely overwhelmed and humbled by the outpouring of support we have received. the event was a glowing success and has helped us start creating a network of bbf friends and begin to raise the funds needed to bring dignity, smiles and solace to those who need it most.”

according to liotta, “attendees walked away with a renewed sense of hope in human kindness,” as well as a swag bag full of fabulous finds from sponsors including sexy hair concepts, opi, max studio, david babaii for wildaid, preece and toff at fred segal, alterna, elle and town & country. additional gift bag sponsors included: american beauty, clear image printing, epione beverly hills, fashion therapy, fiore, glitz, marco pelusi, marie mason, pretty thing, results by, silent partners equestrian, spa luce, teleflora, virgin limo and webvixxen design.

My wife and I were very pleased to attend the Beauty Bus inaugural kickoff. We are very close with the founders, and we were very close with the wonderful woman whose untimely passing inspired this effort. This is a terrific new organization, worthy of your attention.
