editor’s choice for summer skin: aroma-sothys!

image energizing shower gel / $24.00 USD / 6.76 oz.
delicious scrub / $44.00 USD / 6.76 oz.

while not technically carry-on friendly products, these two shower products from sothys have me entirely hooked. so much so, in fact, that i’m willing to take a few minutes to repackage them for carry on travel into 3 oz. containers. why? four reasons: i totally jive with the company’s philosophy on skin care, i love their gentle formulas, the textures are perfection, and they both smell amazing.

the energizing shower gel boasts eucalyptus, cardamom, nutmeg, and neroli essential oils, all of which work to revitalize skin and leave you feeling awake and alert. the scent is slightly spicy and green, like freshly mown grass mixed with spices. definitely worth a few extra minutes of pampering in the mornings, and a delightful way to take a little bit of soothing home comfort with me while i travel.

the delicious scrub is never harsh on my skin (i’ve even used it as a facial scrub), and with ingredients like spices, ginger, nutmeg, orange and mandarin essential oils, the smell once again has me hooked. the scent reminds me of khan al khalil market in cairo, so everytime i use it i’m transported back to summertime in egypt (a wonderful memory!).

if these scents are not your thing, sothys has plenty of great products to try. entirely worth your money, entirely worth your time, sothys should be on the radar of any diva looking for the very best to care for her skin. here’s a little info about the company:

in 1946, sothys was a beauty institute in paris, where a list of exclusive customers enjoyed fine french products created by dr. hotz, a medical biologist. sothys was acquired by the mas family in 1966 and chairman bernard mas decided to add to the beautiful sothys range and increase its availability. by 1970 sothys had entered the united states market under the direction of esthetician christian garces. sothys became an instant hit for estheticians looking for a professional, results- oriented product line. over two decades later, it continues to be the forerunner in an extremely demanding industry. much of sothys' success is due to its focus on education. not content to simply sell its products, sothys offers continuous, complementary education to estheticians and therapists who want to learn not just about the products, but about the industry in general. at the sothys institute in miami, and at regional sothys offices across the nation, classes are offered, with topics ranging from hands-on body workshops to cosmetic chemistry. for more information, please visit www.sothys-usa.com.
