lighten your load ...

while we're always looking for products that make your travels a bit easier, we also love to share little travel gems with you that are compact and oh-so-practical.

in previous posts we've expounded on the virtues of everything from sugar to baking soda to use in a pinch if you've left something vital like facial scrub or deodorant at home. but sometimes even the basics are unavailable ... things like towels. if you've ever spent a night in a budget hotel in a less-than-developing country, you'll know what i mean.

we've run across a product that helps you make sure you have a towel wherever you need it:

packaged about the size of a hockey puck, this large towel is perfect for packing in a corner of your carry on bag. it takes up virtually no room, and you can just pack it and forget it ... it will be there when you need it. weighing in at only 5 ounces, the lightload towel is made from a thin, light and highly absorbent material (they are more absorbent than beach towels!). this emergency towel is also machine washable, quick drying and biodegradable, making it an essential for all hikers, bikers, road trippers and travelers going abroad.

if you don't think you'll need a lightload towel quite as big as a beach towel, you're in luck. the company also offers a 12 x 12 inch size (2 for $2.75) which works great as a washcloth, as well as a 12 x 24 inch size (3 for $5.95) which is the perfect size for drying your hair. each towel is individually wrapped in a waterproof wrapper, so toss a few in your carry on bag, one in your purse and one in a desk drawer so that you're always covered if you need a towel.

diva in a carry on believes in being as prepared as a girl scout while traveling, and the lightload towel makes being extra-prepared so easy. buy some before the holidays, take them on your travels with you, and hey! share the love with your friends and family. lightload towels are the perfect size for stocking stuffers!
