who needs a tailor?

it seems like most pants these days (dressy AND jeans) are made to be worn with heels.

that's all fine and good - the combination looks great together - but what happens if you do significant walking to and from work? ride the subway? park in a garage 5 blocks from your home? have to run through the airport to catch a flight to a one-hour meeting (no time to change clothes) and then have to fly back immediately? or, hell, just had a pedicure?

probably what you've been doing is (a) sucking it up and learning to hide the pain from wearing heels all day, (b) slipping on your tennis shoes and hoping not to fray the ends of your pants, or (c) rolling up the hems and hoping they don't come loose just as you jump that nasty puddle of streetwater.

well, ladies ... zakkerz to the rescue!

these ingenious little bands fold and secure end to end with magnets, creating a "loop" in which to hold your homemade cuffs on your pants. just roll your pants to the height you need to keep them out of the dirt and away from your heels, position one zakkerz inside the pants near the seam, fold it up and over your cuff, and magnetically "snap" it into place. repeat with the other side of your cuff, then repeat on the other pants leg. how easy was that?!?! zakkerz work best if you position them to fit together above the cuff, through one layer of fabric.

what a smart way to keep those expensive pants neat, clean, tidy and most of all, unfrayed!

diva tip: zakkerz also work great on shirt sleeve cuffs as well, especially on slick fabrics that don't hold a cuff easily (like satin). just roll up your sleeves, and place a zakkerz around the cuff to keep sleeves out of the way of messy projects (doing dishes, fingerpainting with the kids, cleaning out your office closet, etc.).
