i can't think of much worse than being on a long flight and having to decide whether to use the microbe-filled airline pillow and blanket, or freeze and try to stay in an upright position while sleeping. it definitely pays to bring these things with you, but with limited carry on space it can be a big challenge.

designed and created by a long-time flight attendant, the PamBee has everything you need to make sleeping through a long flight more comfortable ... and sanitary. the ingenious design includes a case, a blow-up pillow, a sleep-mask and a blanket. the case (which fits the blow-up pillow or an airline pillow just like a pillowcase) is made of a machine-washable, silky-feeling fabric, as is the sleep-mask and one side of the blanket. the other side of the generously-long blanket is made of a suede-like fabric to keep you warm and comfortable. everything packs up neatly and fits into the compact case that can fit into a carry on bag, a laptop case or even a medium to large purse.
the PamBee comes in six different designs (3 prints, 3 solids) to suit just about any one's tastes. every frequent traveler should have one of these "perma-packed" in her carry on bag. one flight with a PamBee in your possession and you'll never settle for thin, germ-y airline pillows and blankets again.

I love this! Definitely a must have for anyone who travels by plane...like, everyone reading this blog! Kudos!
To solve the problem of the icky plane blankets, I always bring along one (or two, or three) pashmina shawls from various places I have been. They work well as a blanket AND a beautiful accessory (shawl, scarf, headcover, etc. etc.) when I'm at my destination.
