mailbox-love for the week of 7 september 2007 ...

the divas proclaim this week to be sexy hair week!

well ... sexy hair AND body. we love opening up the mailbox and finding wonderful things to make our hair and skin look and feel gorgeous, and no one does it like sexy hair. this week, there's lots of love for the big sexy hair line, and volume-a-plenty! Plus a few things for short hair, healthy hair and even that fading end-of-summer tan remnant!

** just a quick note from sexy hair: the retail sale of sexy hair products is only authorized in professional beauty salons, including salon chains like JCPenney and Trade Secret.

what are we digging? where to start, where to start! we'll start with big sexy hair ...

big volume shampoo
2 oz.
this plumping shampoo has a fruity-citrusy smell that we love, and doesn't make hair feel dry or stripped like some other volumizing shampoos can. it helps to moisturize hair with its combination of protiens and panthenol, so it's actually putting a lot of great stuff BACK into the hair to create healthy-looking and feeling volume. great stuff for dry, lackluster or fine hair.

big volume conditioner
2 oz.
a good conditioner is worth its weight in gold, particularly if you have hair that feels weighed down after most conditioners. this lightly-scented conditioner helps rid hair of tangles, adds moisture and smoothes everything wonderfully without leaving a heavy, greasy feeling in its wake. moist, soft, beautiful hair is what's left behind. again, perfect for dry or fine hair.

so pumped volumizing mist
.85 oz.
use this little wonder on dry hair. this is the lightest volumizing product in the big sexy hair line, and with a combination of grapefruit, lychee and white tea scents, it's bound to be a big favorite for boosting sagging hairstyles. it smelled like tangerines to us! yum! spray it along the roots of dry hair and scrunch for volume, or spray it on your fingertips and work them gently along the roots of the hair at the crown of your head for a light "pick-up" that's so totally wearable - no dry flakes later on, no stiff looking hair, no obvious "product-y" look at all - just sheer volume. love!

spray & play
2.25 oz.
got one of those hairstyles that MUST have hairspray? try this one. it dries quickly, leaves no flaky residue, and imparts great shine (but not obvious gloss) to hair. if you're in a pinch and out of mousse or other "wet" styling products, spray a little bit of this into your hands and smooth them over tricky areas of your hair, then style as usual. very little smell, and feels weightless on the hair.

big shine
2.5 oz.
as much as we abuse our hair, we appreciate a good shine spray. this one does go on smelling a little "alcohol-ish" but that fades very quickly into a light citrusy smell. perfect finish to a perfect style, straight or curly, and goes on without adding an oily feel or a lot of weight to the hair. if you have dry ends like we do and you use a straightening iron, mist just a touch on the ends, allow to dry and then go over them with your straightening iron again just briefly. they'll look just as healthy and beautiful as the rest of your hair.

and now for some fun from some of the other lines sexy hair has to offer ...

gleam me up
(short sexy hair line)
1.8 oz.
this great new molding wax is THE essential product for short hair - those amazing pixie styles! - but it's a gem for longer hair as well, particularly if you like the choppy, sort-of pieced look at the ends of your hair. they named it right when they put "gleam" in the title - a tiny amount of this stuff was all it took to throw some serious shine on our tresses. smells a bit like a cross between a green apple and a lemon - very nice. not sticky or tacky, very silky. great for curly hair, too, to help define curls.

aerotan
(sex symbol line)
1.28 oz.
towards the beginning of fall, you still want to travel and look great in those transitional-season clothes so, yeah, spray tanners are the way to go ... but only GOOD spray tanners - those that don't leave you orange and/or regretful. this one has moisturizers in it and a fine, micro-spray mist that helps cover completely without streaking. can be used on the face as well, just spray onto a cosmetic sponge to apply evenly. an essential if you plan on going sleeveless indoors (cocktail parties, anyone?) during fall or winter.
