the divas declare this week to be sally hansen lip-love week! and what an awesome week it was for the mailbox. check out our reviews on some of sally hansen's most underestimated products ... they aren't just about great nail polish anymore!

full and radiant lip definer
claims to fame:
* a revolutionary lip maximizing formula, featuring a peptide complex known to enhance natural collagen, naturally helps lips achieve their full potential
* soy protein helps improve lip texture and tone
* optical brighteners create a healthy, radiant glow
what we say:
we're usually hardcore lip balm girls, but we tried using this as a lip base instead of lip balm and the results were pretty darned good. we put it on right after our foundation to allow it time to "settle" into the lips, and then put on the rest of our makeup, lip color last. while it didn't help to hold the color in place any longer than other products, it did leave our lips softer and fuller and provided a smooth base for lip color. we tried it at the end of the day right before bed as well, and woke up with really soft lip with no flaking or rough patches.

peptide lip line treatment
claims to fame:
* concentrated cream corrects lines on and around mouth as it firms and hydrates
* helps strengthen skin's matrix with a peptide-vitamin complex known to support collagen formation
* lines and wrinkles appear plumped from within, so skin looks younger and smoother
* it also nourishes with vitamins a, c, and e
what we say:
we admit it ... we're starting to get faint little lines around the mouth as we get older, and yes, we're panicking about it. we tried smoothing this on at night right before bed around the perimeter of the lips, and even a little around the eyes (carefully though). after a few days, we did notice some improvement - lines seemed softer in the mornings which made for a much smoother base over which to apply our makeup.

line freeze for lips
claims to fame:
* cream contains a powerful GABA complex that works immediately with skin to create a tightening, smoothing effect
* instantly tightens and smooths for a line-free effect that lasts all day
* see an instantly younger looking mouth
what we say:
we're not sure how this works, but we know that it does to a certain extent. we put it on around our lips and felt it start working immediately. careful you don't use this before bed though, as it seems to have a little bit of a drying effect over time. great for day though.

hair wax remover strip kit for face
claims to fame:
* quick, easy, ready to use - just press on and pull off
* for face, eyebrows and bikini area
* european salon formula moisturizes with vitamin e and soothes with bisabolol
* includes azulene finishing oil for quick, easy removal of residue
* 4 different sizes for all body parts
* results last up to 8 weeks
* reduces the appearance of hair regrowth
* no nicks, cuts or razor burn
* dermatologist tested - salon tested
what we say:
sometimes, okay, we just don't have time to do a proper creme wax job at home on our lip hair, or our eyebrows, or to neaten up the jungle "down under" before we head out on the road. tuck a couple of these strips in your carry on (they can be trimmed down to the sizes you need) and you can DIY in your hotel room. while we love these no-thought-involved strips (just rub them between your hands to warm the wax first, apply, and zip off), they don't always work as well as creme waxes (particularly on stubborn hair). keep a pair of tweezers handy just in case for stray hairs left behind.

lip inflation tints
claims to fame:
* refreshing tinted gloss enhances lips’ natural color and shape by shape while adding brilliant shine
* peppermint “cools” and stimulates lips
* lips become flush and plump instantly for a sexy, pouty look
* vitamins a and e hydrate the lips
* available in three beautiful tints
* dare to compare to department store lip plumpers at half the price
what we say:
we're constantly looking for the next big lip plumper, though we know through common sense and scientific fact that 99% of them simply use ingredients like cinnamon or ginger oils to irritate the skin and bring blood flow to the area (thus the "plumping" action). we have to say, though, that this plumper is one of the least irritating and nicest ones we've used. the peppermint gives a fresh feel, and the hydration factor is really good - we didn't have to keep reapplying it all the time. the plus factor on this product is the fact it comes in different tints, so really there's no need for a lip color that might smudge or "creep" beneath it. Just a touch of nude lip liner to keep everything in place, gloss on, and go.
